Weekend Report April 8th & 9th 2017
We had a good few team in action again this past weekend.
U10’s
The U10’s took part in a blitz on a spectacular day in Tralee. We played games against Tralee, Castleisland and Dingle. Some of the offloading, passing and running rugby on display by our team was sensational at times. Fantastic tries were scored by Aaron, Adam, Holly, Cian and Zac. There were brilliant carries by Jack, Alex and Zac. Our tackling improved as the day went on, this was most evident through Dara and Luke. Adam, Aaron and Alex tackled anything that moved all day. The whole team were a credit to the club, showing great determination, discipline and skill during the day.
U12’s
The U12 ‘s traveled to Tralee RFC on Saturday to play in the All Kerry Blitz. There were 4 clubs playing with Tralee fielding an A& B teams. Five matches were played on the new regulation wide pitches. The first match we provided 5 subs for Castleisland as we had a bye.The second match we played Castleisland this was a close match. Match 3 was against Tralee B who had a stronger forwards but by passing the ball out we were able to score. Next up were Tralee B’s who were a faster team and ran in several scores before we came back to score. Lastly we played Corcra Dhuibhne for our last match which was evenly fought ending in a draw.Thanks to all the players for taking part. We are now looking forward to the last fixture of the season the U11’s Pan Munster Festival at Garryowen on the 29 April
U18’s
Our U18’s had a hard fought battle against Tralee RFC in the West Munster Cup Final. Our lads fought bravely but were bested by a very strong Tralee side. Killorglin showcased some great skill and power, and show great promise for the 2017/2018 campaign. Our U18’s will finish their season this weekend when they host a traveling team from Wolverhapton at Ballymalis. The game is on Sunday April 16th and kicks off at 2:30pm. This promises to be a great afternoon, so if you can take a break from the Easter Eggs and come cheer on the U18’s.
Seniors
Our seniors were due to take on Castleisland RFC this past Sunday in the McElligott Cup final. Disappointingly no ref was scheduled for the game so no game took place. Unfortunately this caused the seniors season to finish with a whimper instead of a bang.
