Killorglin Iveragh U18. 5 played their first league game at home against kanturk on Sunday the 13th of October. KI who are dealing with alot of injuries at the moment started with a very young team. Trailing 17 nil at half time, the boys came back to win the game 19 to 17, a Matt Spillane conversion with the last play of the game sealing the win. Tries from Cormac Riordan, Coleman Courtney and the winner from Roan O Shea in the last minute. KI played the majority of the 2nd half with only 13 players due to injuries and I’ll discipline. The squad showed immense character and resilience to keep fighting against huge adversity. Although the game was won with the last play, try saving tackles from Jerry Mccarthy and Roan O Shea kept the lads in it with a chance to snatch victory in the end. A special word for Kian Nolan who was playing an outstanding game in the back row, he moved to 13 to cover an injury and picked up a knock himself. The whole squad wishes him a speedy recovery.
