Killorglin travelled long journey to Scariff to play Scariff in first match of phase two of league. Killorglin kicked off and had early chance but attack broke down. Scariff via penalties got access to Killorglin 22 and after sustained pressure scored from a maul with successful conversion. After strong and sustained defence, Killorglin finally got hands on ball in attack. A great break by Jamie O’Leary ended with pass to Kevin O’Sullivan who scored a try on left hand side. Shortly after Killorglin attacked again, a cross field kick by Luke O’Shea was collected by Jamie O’Leary who touched down on right hand side to leave half time score 10-7 to the visitors.

The second half saw Killorglin get off to a blistering start. Sweeping passing moves and carries ended with great run by Seamus Doyle who touched down under the posts with conversion by Luke O’Shea. A few minutes later another great attack by Killorglin saw Seamus score another try under the posts which was converted by Luke O’Shea. Some minutes later Luke O’Shea nailed another penalty to bring score to 27-7.
The game became very broken after this with multiple penalties awarded. Killorglin seemed to get harsher treatment and ultimately Scariff were awarded a penalty try. The last 10 minute were fiercely fought but no further scores leaving Killorglin winners by 27-14 which gets phase two of league off to best possible start.
