Our Killorglin/ Iveragh U18.5’s take on Clonakilty this Sunday 7th April in Virgin Media Park in the U18.5’s Munster Plate Final. Kick Off 3pm. All support welcome

Killorglin/Iveragh U18.5 took on their Fermoy coun

Killorglin/Iveragh U18.5 took on their Fermoy counterparts in the Semi Final of the Pan Munster Plate, winning on a scoreline of 16 points to 6. Tries from Callum O’ Sullivan And Conor O’ Neill, with 2 penalties from Conall Cournane. On a day where the ground conditions were very heavy K I showed huge character and resilience in defense, this was exemplified by the massive tackling by our 2 centres, Jerry McCarthy and Junior Kidd. Well done to the whole squad, those who came on gave great energy and impact.Great credit to Fermoy, they played a huge role in a compelling and highly competitive game.Finally thanks to the ref who had an excellent game, allowing the 2 sides to play good rugby. Next up is the Pan Munster final against Clonakilty, this will be held in Virgin media park (Musgrave Park) at 3pm on next Sunday the 7th of April. All support very welcome!

Best of luck to the U18.5’s this Saturday in the Munster Plate Semi Final

Killorglin hosted Dungarvan in Munster Junior Bowl

Killorglin hosted Dungarvan in Munster Junior Bowl semi final on Sunday March 24th. Conditions were heavy underfoot with a drizzle falling.
From the first whistle Killorglin played at strong intensity with excellent tackles, pressure and carrying. 6 minutes in Dungarvan had a lineout close to their own line. Though they won the ball Rob Lynch pounced on the pass back to score a try that was converted by Luke O’Shea. Killorglin were playing excellent continuity and got their reward for sequence of pick and go carries with a try by Timmy Lynch and again Luke O’Shea added the conversion. Dungarvan got the next score with a penalty but Killorglin kept on the pressure with a try by Stephen Cotter again converted by Luke. Timmy Lynch got another try before half time that with conversion left half time score at 28-3.
In the second half Killorglin introduced all their substitutions that got valuable game time into many players while still bossing the exchanges. Tries were scored by Stephen Cotter, Mikey Griffin, Luke O’Shea and Donncha Crowley and three were converted by Luke O’Shea.
On to the final now v Clonmel with date and venue to be confirmed. Congratulations to all the team for a tremendous performance.

Killorglin u16s travelled to Castleisland for the

Killorglin u16s travelled to Castleisland for the semi final of the West Munster cup.
Castleisland kick off the first half with killorglin having some handling errors gave Castleisland the first try of the game unconverted.
Killorglin regrouped and settled after the restart and put strong pressure on Castleisland try line with knocking on twice over the try line again Castleisland put killorglin under pressure in there own half but with Killorglin’s strong defence turned over the ball and Dylan O’Connor running the length of the field to touch down under the posts converted by Chris Kelliher.
Castleisland restarted and quick hands from killorglin got Connor West over for his first try converted by Chris. That left a half time score of 14 to 5
Killorglin kicked off a 2nd half and pinned Castleisland in there half and saw Dylan O’Connor score his second try converted by Chris. Castleisland got there purple patch and scored 2 more try’s 1 converted. Killorglin introduced there bench and freshened up the team and got some good rucks and pods saw Adain Nolan and Kuba Gwis scoring there first try’s for killorglin both converted by Chris.
This left the score at the end killorglin 35 Castleisland 17.
Great rugby played by all.

Killorglin U14’s played Mallow in the 1/4 of Pan

Killorglin U14’s played Mallow in the 1/4 of Pan Munster. The lads played their hearts out in the game. Unfortunately the match ended in Mallow winning 14-12.
