Weekend Match Reports Sunday October 21st
U14’s
Killorglin /Iveragh u14’s traveled to Tralee RFC on Sunday for a friendly. As both clubs had big numbers it was agreed to play 4 15 minutes quarters
Killorglin/Iveragh started the first quarter well with Adam going over for 3 tries and Conall converting 2
In the 2nd quarter The team changed around and Tralee got a bit stronger but Matthew Spillane got over in the corner after a good move
The 3rd quarter saw Tralee got off to a better start, a lot of Killorglin/Iveragh players made there first start for the team so it was a good chance to learn and develop.
In the 4th quarter two strong sides went out Killorglin/Iveragh played good rugby Adam touched down another try. It was a great learning experience for both team and Killorglin/Iveragh would like to thank Tralee RFC for the tea and sandwiches after the game.
Seniors
Killorglin were at home in Ballymalis on Sunday and led 3-21 at half time against Mitchelson RFC in their 3rd game on the Munster J1 league Division 3 with 3 great team tries from that were touched down by Darragh O’Shea (2) and Kyle Byrne with Luke O’Shea converting them all. Killorglin were shown a yellow card 4 minutes from half time but did well to keep Mitcheltown from scoring before the half.
Killorglin started the second half still down to 14 men and Mitchelstown touched down their first try in the first 5 minutes. The conversion was missed to make the score Killorglin 21 Mitchelstown 8. 15 minutes into the second half Rodi Healy was shown a second yellow card and Killorglin were down to 14 men for the remainder of the half. Indicipline from Killorglin and a numerical advantage for Mitchelstown saw them run in 3 more tries and won the game 29-21. Killorglin will be disappointed to drop the points but will look towards their next game against Tralee on November 4th.
