U8’s

U8s took part in a home blitz involving 2 Castleisland teams, 1 Killorglin team and a team of Killorglin and Iveragh. Conditions were challenging but all players performed brilliantly in the wind and rain. The tackling was excellent considering we had only begun tackling very recently. Some great tries were scored and the players continue to improve week on week. Well done to all players and thanks to the coaches and parents for all the help and support.

U10’s

Our U10’s Blue team had two games against Iveragh and Castleisland in our 2018 Minis Blitz at Ballymalis.
All the team played very well in mostly dry but windy conditions.
First up was South Kerry side Iveragh – the team led by Isabelle who passed well, making use of the space, with some superb tackles by Fia, Isabelle & Kaitlin. Great scores put in by Myles, Ronán, Alex, Fia & Darragh.
Next up was Castleisland – this was a much more physical game for the Blues captained this time by Daniel, the team put in a fantastic effort with some great tackles by Ronán and Seán and great work by Darragh on the wing. Eddie got a lovely try in the corner just before the match ended.
It was off for some very welcome refreshments just as the rain started pouring down. A wonderful blitz enjoyed by all who attended.

Blue Team: Isabelle O’Shea (Capt), Daniel Malone (Capt), Fia O’Gorman, Seán O’ Gorman, Eddie O’Sullivan, Darragh McKenna, Alex Keary, Kaitlin McKenna, Ronán McDonnell, Myles Cahill

Our U10 white team played 3 great games on Saturday.  Patrick, Conor, Karen, Charlie and Luke, with an Andrew Conway finish, got great tries.  Better still was Liam’s straight running lines out of defense to get us out of trouble.  Three highlights of the day were 1) the attacking running lines and ball handling of Dara, Alek, Charlie, Harry and Freya. 2) Conor’s work in the rucks was tireless as time and again he protected the ball. 3) Evan Keary has the best match for the club yet!

U12’s

The U12s were playing in Killorglin’s annual home blitz on Saturday. Their opposition on the day were strong Castleisland and Dingle sides. Killorglin split into two competitive and strong sides. Both Killorglin teams played three highly competitive games, the most hotly contested being the game between themselves! There were excellent performances throughout the entire Killorglin squad. Thanks to everybody within the club who put such an effort into this fantastic day. Finally well done to all the players who were so respectful during the minutes silence at the start of the day.

U18’s

Abbeyfeale traveled on Saturday to take on Killorglin who moved the game to Cromane to accommodate the band of minis that descended on Ballymalis to brave a blitz in December

The game was played as 13 a side in difficult wind and rain but both teams made the most of it and played attacking rugby. Abbeyfeale got the first try 20 mins after some poor defending but the home team struck back early when they got the ball out wide to Garry Randles who shuck off a number of tackles to score a try out in the left. The difficult conditions for kickers left the score at 5 – 5 at the half.
Abbeyfeale got over for an uncontested  try after 15 mins in the second half. Killorglin pushed for the win but Abbeyfeale defended well to hold out for a 5 point victory.
