Seniors

J1 Division 3 Killorglin v Fermoy.
In the aftermath of storm Brian, conditions were perfect in Ballymalis for round 3 of the league.
Fermoy drew first blood, slotting a penalty from 15 meters out. Moments later Fermoy were caught with their hands in the scrum and were penalized. Luke O’Shea converted the penalty to bring the score level at 3-3. Not long before half time Fionn O’Shea had a great block down and regained possession for Killorglin. Fermoy were penalized and Luke fancied the posts. He made no mistake and put Killorglin up 6-3. Just before half time Captain Tony Lynch was caught offside and was penalized. The Fermoy kick drifted to the right of the posts and Killorglin went into half time with a 6-3 lead.
Unfortunately luck ran out for the men from Killorglin as the second half didn’t go their way. Fermoy touched down three tries and Killorglin were unable to answer. Killorglin threatened the Fermoy line on several occasions however they could not break through.
A disappointing game for the Kerry men, they will look to bounce back to winning ways in 2 weeks time against Chorca Dhuibhne.
